BIATS – Industrial Archaeology

The Barnwood Industrial Archaeology & Transport Society meet on a monthly basis for talks and outings on a diverse range of topics relating to local industrial heritage – recently this has included the Gloster Aircraft Company, Cotswold Canals, Ledbury Brewery and the Thames Severn Canal.

The BIATS AGM will be held on Monday 11th December 2017 in the S&SC Pavilion at 2.30pm.

As attendance at BIATS talks has been dwindling over the last couple of years, the AGM will be focussing on the future of the group, with the hope of maintaining the spirit of the Society as a means of like-minded people interested in industrial and transport topics getting together to share their enthusiasm and to enjoy the social aspects.  There are various options and possibilities to be considered and there is hope that a new direction can be set for the Society.

Talks have generally been held in the Barnwood Pavilion during the winter months on Monday evenings from 7pm to 10pm.  These have been swapped to outings to sites of interest during the summer with times and locations advertised on an individual basis via the Events page and the RMA Newsletter.
