Sadly, I have to announce that the next Barnwood Quiz, on the 16th April, will be the very last one. Ever. (He really means it this time!)
Chris Turner, who has run the quizzes brilliantly for many years, is finally hanging up his quiz book and having a well deserved rest after preparing an amazing 325 quizzes over more than 30 years!
It would be great if we had a full house for the last one on 16th April so please spread the word among all current and previous teams and team members and let’s have as many people there are possbile to give Chris a good send off.
Chris’s Quizzes started in Bedminster in 1981 and transferred to Barnwood in its current format in November 1993. There are still one or two loyal teams who have been attending regularly since that time. Previously held in the restaurant at EDF Barnwood, since 2004 the quizzes have continued at Walls Social Club and have raised a brilliant £36,000 for charity, given away in 112 separate donations.
Chris will be preparing a final Christmas handout quiz, which will be available on request by email, please contact the S&SC Office.
