Dear S&SC Members
The Barnwood Sports & Social Club AGM will take place on Tuesday 8th February at 12pm in the Lecture Theatre and by Skype. We would like to encourage as many members as possible to attend. Section contacts have already been informed and will be passing on the details to their members but please all feel free to forward this on to other members who may not have seen it.
If you would like to attend – or think you may be able to try to attend – and would like the meeting invitation and skype details sending on to you then please let me know and I will send them out.
This is a critical year for the club as the company’s office move to Gloucester Business Park will be taking place with considerable implications for the Sports & Social Club. We have been liaising continuously with EDF over the past year to try to determine what facilities and spaces may be available at the new offices for the club to use and what activities either on or off site we may be able to offer. There is still a long way to go to know exactly what the S&SC of the future will look like but we are now in a good position to be able to confirm that we are still planning to have an ongoing role after the move and to share with you all what we now know about the facilities on offer at the new offices.
We hope to see as many of you at the meeting in possible, either by Skype or in person. If you plan to attend in person, it would be helpful of you could let me know so that we can ensure numbers are within safe limits. NB any S&SC members not working at Barnwood who wishes to attend in person should contact me to discuss access to site under the present covid circumstances.
