BIATS Outing – Thames & Severn Canal – 29 April

The first outing in the Spring and Summer series of walks and visits starts with an afternoon walk on Wednesday 29th April 2015.

This will look at a stretch of the Thames and Severn Canal to the East of Stroud including the newly built section near the Capels Viaduct, and the current restoration projects by Cotswold Canals Trust at Bowbridge and Ham Mill locks. Some former mill sites will be also be seen.

Walking is mainly flat but with one steep uphill stretch, total length around 3 miles and boots recommended. Meet at 1.45 for a 2pm start at the Pay and Display car park off London road in Stroud, just to the NW of the Waitrose car park (grid ref SO852049).
