Tennis Section News:
Two Men’s Doubles teams are playing in the Gloucestershire Summer Tennis League. Dai Jenkins is captain of the A team and Simon Lane captains the B team.
There is a Barnwood tennis tournament currently underway for staff – results will be announced and if you think it looks fun you can think about joining in next year!
Two pairs of tickets to Wimbledon were made available to our club. A random draw of eligible members was used to decide who would get the opportunity to purchase these. To participate in next year’s draw you need to be a tennis section member and a British Tennis Member (free) so if you are enjoying this year’s Wimbledon on TV you can join the club for a chance to go for real next year!
If you are interested in learning to play tennis please contact Alwin Wiederhold (via Outlook if you are based at Barnwood or contact the S&SC Office for details). Coaching from LTA affiliated coaches can be arranged if there is a demand for it. Of course, this will incur an charge to hire the coach.
